Individual Therapy

Accepting you have a lot to learn about yourself can be challenging.

So much has gone into making you the person you are today – various experiences, hardships, relationships, and testing of limits has formed you.

Your thoughts and the way you interact with others.

Things have changed the past few years.

There’s something missing.

That zest for life you once had, has slowly faded.

You love your family, but lately, there’s nothing left after you’ve given all of yourself throughout the week… the YEARS.

You don’t enjoy family time, or days off. You look forward to going back to bed, shortly after your alarm goes off.

And your professional life isn’t any better.

Work used to be challenging, now you just go through the motions.

You feel like an imposter. Everyone looks to you for answers, because you seem to have it all together.

Inside you’re screaming for help, because THIS isn’t what you wanted to do ALL your life.

You snapped at a coworker again. People around you ask, “Are you OK? You haven’t been yourself lately.”

Impatience should be your middle name. You’ve never been the calmest person in the room, but you surprise even yourself with your short temper and harsh sarcasm.

Life has thrown a couple curve balls your way.

There were some significant losses. Change happened quicker than you expected.

Why can’t you catch a break?

Is there anyone who understands just how hard things have been for you? You can’t just “snap out of it.”

People mean well, but their suggestions don’t help. Besides, they can’t help you if they don’t understand you.

Deciding you need to “talk to someone” is a HUGE decision.

Finding that someone feels overwhelming.

Where do you start?

What should you look for in a therapist?

THEN actually following through and seeing the person you chose after hours, weeks, or months of searching is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.

You never thought you would be this person…

…someone who needs help with all the things going on in your life.

You’re stable, career oriented, responsible, and have the life others envy.

Your head doesn’t have enough room for “all the craziness” going on in it right now.

“Therapy is for crazy people, and I’m not crazy.”

But that’s the thing – therapy isn’t for “crazy people.”

Society has made going to therapy or a struggle with mental health, into some twisted, scary movie plot.

Movies portray psychiatric wards or rehab facilities, as places where patients secretly harm themselves, engage in risky behaviors, end up strapped to their bed or in a padded room.

That’s just fiction, entertainment – it’s not reality.

Therapy helps people overcome the challenges that prevent them from becoming the person they want to be.

In session you’re given the opportunity to vent without judgement, no filter, just truth. Those unspeakable truths that you feel guilty for sharing with those closest to you.

Therapy is a team approach. Together we come up with a plan, some goals you would like to accomplish.

I ask questions that help me get know the real you. What makes you tick.

Maybe you want to feel inspired or improve the quality of your life. People seek therapy for many reasons, most commonly because certain things are hard to face alone.
